Following the chairs' opening remarks, the conference will kick off with a panel on the dilemma of enforcing arbitral awards against non-signatories. This is often the subject of different interpretations depending on the jurisdiction and the court.

The complexity of M&A transactions is increasing as arbitration clauses become the favoured tool to resolve disputes. This trend will be the focus of the day's second panel. The discussion will also cover especially complex disputes, including contractual representations, warranties and purchase price agreements.

A networking lunch divides the one-day conference in two.

The influence of corruption investigations on ongoing arbitration procedures is the penultimate panel’s focus. This hot topic is an increasingly common occurrence across Latin American jurisdictions and a concern for many.

The event will conclude with a GAR Live favourite – The Inquisition. Inspired by US Senate committee hearings, the panel will ask a succession of “witnesses” if they would recommend Miami as a seat for international arbitration. This lively discussion will be followed by a drinks reception, which wraps up the event.
