Msc Law MBA Sergio Mitsuo Vilela, TEP (Brazilian chapter), registered lawyer in Brazil (OAB/SP 220.439) and in Portugal (OA/PT 54.376L), obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of São Paulo (USP) (Brazil) in 2003; MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) in 2007; MSc in International Law from USP in 2010; and was accepted to the PhD Doctorate Programme in International Tax Law at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) in 2013, with expected graduation in 2018.

Sergio has been working with tax for over 17 years and has recently joined KENDRIS (www.kendris.com), a leading Swiss partner for family office, trust and fiduciary services, Swiss and international tax and legal advice, accounting, outsourcing and art management, as international tax director, where he will continue advising families in wealth and succession planning and corporations in their offshore operations.

His Brazilian professional career includes experiences at two of the largest Brazilian law offices (Demarest & Almeida and Tozzini Freire), Scania (analyst), Carrefour (tax planning manager) and Sony LATAM (head of tax). His Swiss experience comes from Bravest, which specialises in cross-border operations (Swiss, Brazilian and Portuguese corporate and individual clients).

Published author and frequently quoted by Brazilian and Swiss news outlets, Sergio is a Brazilian national curling player (played the 2015 and 2017 World Curling Mixed Championship) and lives in Switzerland since 2013, travelling regularly to Latin America and across Europe.
